Wellington Chiomadz -Pastor

Rev. Wellington Chiomadzi (goes by Pastor Wellington) is an ordained Elder of The United Methodist Church. He recently transferred his membership from the Zimbabwe West Annual Conference (UMC) to The Indiana Annual Conference (INUMC). He is currently serving as an Associate Pastor at St Andrew UMC (West Lafayette) as well as Community Organizer with Lafayette Ubuntu International Community at Purdue University under a grant offered by the Indiana Conference of The United Methodist Church (INUMC.

Pastor Wellington is married to his beautiful wife, Felicia, for 33 years and together were blessed with 3 handsome sons, Anesu (32), Panashe (28) and Kudzaishe (20) and 2 granddaughters (Felicia and Rose), and a grandson Kyle.

Pastor Wellington served his pastoral appointments in Zimbabwe for 14 years before transitioning to the USA in 2017. In Zimbabwe he served congregations in rural, peri-urban and urban centers. He also held several leadership positions in the church from local, District and Conference levels. Prior to joining the pastoral ministry, Rev. Chiomadzi worked as a Relief Teacher with The Ministry of Higher Education (Zimbabwe), as a Banker (Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe), and as an Entrepreneur (Director – Laburnum Enterprises (Pvt) Ltd.

Pastor Wellington holds several diploma certificates as well as a Bachelor of Divinity (Hon.) – Africa University, Master of Science Degree in Development Studies (National University of Science and Technology, Zimbabwe) and a Master of Spiritual Formation and Evangelism (Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary, USA). He has served at 3 congregations in the Indiana Annual Conference of The United Methodist church.

Pastor Wellington is passionate about Evangelism (sharing the Good News of Christ) and describes himself as a “people-person”. He thrives well in a community where interpersonal relationships are valued and cherished and life is shared communally.

Pastor Wellington is excited about his recent appointment to Evansville Central UMC and cant wait to experience what God has in store for us all.

Vickie joined the Central United Methodist Church staff in August of 2019. She is married to James Pokorney. Vickie is a mom and grandmother. She was born and raised in Evansville, and for a few years lived in the New England area. Vickie enjoys working with Central members and staff. When not working, she likes to visit her grandchildren.

Mandy has been employed with Central Child Care since 2001. After many years of teaching, she had the wonderful opportunity to become the Director of the Child Care. Mandy loves working with the children and their families. Mandy has her Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and will acquire her Bachelor’s Degree from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2021.Click here to visit the Central Child Care website!

Katie grew up in Evansville and graduated from North High School. She then attended Oakland City University and received her Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education. Katie has worked for Central Child Care since 2014 but has recently moved into her new position with the church and Child Care in 2018. She has been married for 10 years to Justin, and they have two beautiful children Jensen and Kinsley. She enjoys spending time with her family, being outdoors, and traveling to new places with her family.
