Dewey Miller - Senior Pastor

Rev. Dewey Miller has deep Hoosier roots, acquiring his education at Ball State University, Taylor University, and Anderson School of Theology, studying respectively - Political Science and Religious Studies, Religion: Biblical Literature, and Master of Divinity.  His earliest position at an Indiana United Methodist Church was Youth Pastor at Trinity UMC in Lapel, after graduating from Taylor University. Lapel is where he met and married his wife, Shannon. Rev. Miller went on to serve as Pastor at several more Indiana churches, Warren UMC in Warren; First UMC in Elwood; Howe UMC and Pretty Prairie UMC in Howe, and Argos UMC in Argos.  Pastor Dewey then returned to Trinity UMC in Lapel to serve as their Senior Pastor.

 

During Pastor Dewey’s extensive career, he has ministered to seniors, led children and youth ministries, and built a ministry for those in poverty and need.  Pastor Dewey’s community outreach efforts have included development of neighborhood bible clubs, board positions at the Shed Youth Center in LaGrange, and President, Howe Community Association.  He has worked extensively with mission programs for youth and young adults, leading teams around the world and is Executive Director, Kuandaa International. His pastoral experience has included retiring debt at a struggling congregation and initiating a second worship service.  He developed a Ministry Apprenticeship Program for young adults interested in ministry opportunities and leadership training.

 

Pastor Dewey and his wife, Shannon, have one daughter, Molly.  He enjoys listening to music, playing some guitar and reading in his free time.

Cynthia

Cynthia Jones - Director of Family Ministries

Cynthia comes from Aldersgate United Methodist Church, where she was Youth Director and Communications Director. Previously, she was on staff at Methodist Temple as Communications Director and volunteered with youth there as well. Cynthia is married to David Jones and they have two adult children, Jared, 25, and Maddie, 22. She is excited to be at Central and for all the ministry opportunities God has in store for youth and families!

Penny
Penny Campbell - Child Care Director

Penny is very excited to be the director of Central Child Care. She has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Southern Indiana and holds an Indiana State Teaching License. She is presently working on attaining her Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education.Click here to visit the Central Child Care website!

Lisa
Lisa Miner - Administrative Assistant

Lisa is from northern Illinois and relocated to Evansville in 1986.  She and her husband Scott have two children. Christie (Pastor Aaron Henson) and two grandchildren, Natalie and Levi and Daniel (Janelle) and two grandchildren, Bethany and Aaron.  She came to Central after working for the Red Cross for 5 ½ years and has been the Administrative Assistant at Central since December 2005. Other than spending time with her family, her favorite joys are tending her flowers, reading and attending Bethel Pentecostal Church.

Connie

Connie Houser - Business Administrator

Connie is from Ripley County, Indiana in southeastern Indiana. She grew up in Napoleon, Indiana and moved to Osgood after graduating high school (15 minutes apart at best).  It is 262 miles from Osgood to Evansville, so this was the BIG move for me.  She has 2 daughters, Christa, 26 years old and Kim, 22 years old that also live in   Evansville.  She previously worked for a Life Insurance company and was a Deputy Treasurer for the    Jac-Cen-Del Community School Corporation for 3 years.  Her spare time is spent reading, scrapbooking, and spending time with her family and 2 poodles. 

Wayne

Wayne Jones - Director of Music

Wayne Jones is the conductor of the Central Chancel Choir and guides all aspects of music at the church.  He holds two degrees from Indiana University in Music and Education. Jones says that "As Choir members, we function as a small group to support each other spiritually and work to improve our singing both as individuals and as a group of individuals (a choir); and have fun!"
