Kevin Reed - Senior Pastor

Kevin is a native of Indiana and a graduate of Franklin College of Indiana. He has a passion for children and youth, which he has used as an elementary school teacher and a church youth pastor. He holds a Masters of Divinity degree from the Methodist Theological School of Ohio in Delaware, Ohio. He served as a pastor at a church in Indianapolis and the small community of Edinburgh, Indiana. In January 2014, he, his wife, and his two children arrived at Central UMC and are excited to serve the wonderful people of Evansville.

Cynthia Jones - Director of Family Ministries

Cynthia comes from Aldersgate United Methodist Church, where she was Youth Director and Communications Director. Previously, she was on staff at Methodist Temple as Communications Director and volunteered with youth there as well. Cynthia is married to David Jones and they have two adult children, Jared, 25, and Maddie, 22. She is excited to be at Central and for all the ministry opportunities God has in store for youth and families!

Penny Campbell - Child Care Director

Penny is very excited to be the director of Central Child Care. She has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Southern Indiana and holds an Indiana State Teaching License. She is presently working on attaining her Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education.Click here to visit the Central Child Care website!

Lisa Miner - Administrative Assistant

Lisa is from northern Illinois and has lived in Evansville for the past 23 years. She has been married to Scott for 28 years and has a daughter Christie, 26 years old, who is married to Aaron Henson and a son, Daniel, who is 23 years old. She has assisted her husband with their irrigation repair business, Lawn Keepers, since 1997. She came to Central after working for the Red Cross for 5 ½ years and has been the Administrative Assistant at Central since December 2005. Other than spending time with her family, her favorite joys are tending her flowers, reading and attending Bethel Pentecostal Church.

Charlene Smith - Business Administrator

Charlene has worked at Central Child Care for 13 years. She has had the opportunity to work with some wonderful teachers and staff. Her job was combined with the church in June 2010. The church staff and members have made her feel very welcome to the church! It has been a great challenge for her to learn all of the responsibilities in this new position. Charlene and her husband Eugene have been married for 16 years and have two beautiful girls Brittani & Brooke. Charlene has attended Ivy Tech Community College and would like to continue her education in the near future.

Wayne Jones - Director of Music

Wayne Jones is the conductor of the Central Chancel Choir and guides all aspects of music at the church.  He holds two degrees from Indiana University in Music and Education. Jones says that "As Choir members, we function as a small group to support each other spiritually and work to improve our singing both as individuals and as a group of individuals (a choir); and have fun!"

Julie Reed -Associate Director of Children's Ministries

Julie Reed is responsible for all aspects of children's ministries at Central Church. Julie is a life-long Hoosier United Methodist.  As a pastor’s wife, she has gained invaluable experience working with many different ages of children in a variety of settings.  Julie has also been a Children’s Leader in three different classes of Bible Study Fellowship International in Indiana and is currently an Assistant Children’s Supervisor in the Evansville Day Women’s class.  Julie is the mother of two young boys who bring much joy to her life.  Julie has a heart for children’s ministry and believes that there is no greater privilege than to teach kids about the love of Jesus Christ and the salvation He brings.
