Fall Cleaning!

Gutter CleaningWe often talk about and practice spring cleaning in our lives; the point in the year where we go through our belongings and often rid ourselves of things that no longer get used, and freshen up the things that have laid dormant during the winter months. And as I was cleaning out the gutters of the home we are staying in, I was reminded of another cleaning all together, and it is not nearly as much fun. During the spring we get to dust off treasures that we haven’t seen in awhile and get ready to bask in the summer sun, but the fall holds a different story for us all.

As I was cleaning the debris out of the gutters I couldn’t help but think of some of the gunk clogging up  my own life as well. The little things that have lodged themselves in my life, like an unforgiving heart, or a judgmental spirit, that have a way of slowing down or even clogging the flow of God’s Spirit in my life. We need to be reminded this fall of the confession God demands of us, and pruning that God needs to perform in our lives to keep the channels open for His love and grace to flow through without much hindrance.

My prayer for you all is that you would take the time in the near future to do a little digging and remove the things that are hindering you from experiencing God’s grace, love and forgiveness in all of their glory.
